Coney Crawl 2012 - The Results Are In!

Coney Island hot dog (def.): Coney Island hot dog (also Coney dog or Coney) refers to a natural casing beef hot dog, topped with an all-meat beanless chili, and diced or chopped white onions with one or two strips of yellow mustard. The variety is a fixture in Jackson, Flint, Detroit, and southeastern Michigan. A Coney Dog is not to be confused with a Chili Dog, a more generic name for a chili-topped hot dog.

Well... it was a bit overcast as we started out from the first stop of the Coney Crawl. In total we had 30 bikes show up to challenge last year's winner Dave Shukwit and his 14 coney record. Some opted for a traditional breakfast and others went right for the juggler vein and started the feasting frenzy of chili laden weiners.

Chapter Helmet Policy - Questions???

As most of you know Michigan recently repealed the 35 year old mandatory helmet law in favor of providing the rider with the choice to wear a helmet or not. Since then there have been a number of people ask how this impacts the Chapter and associated rides.

Welcome to Spring!

It’s here. We’ve had a mild winter and some of us have been able to get some riding in earlier than usual. A 45 or 50 degree day in February seems pretty warm and many of us took advantage of it. What about that 80 degree day in March? Pretty nice……

With spring just about here we’ll have plenty of warmer days to get out and ride. That means we’ll be firing up the Chapter rides, soon, if not already by the time you read this article. Our Committees have been working diligently for the last few months putting together day trips, overnight trips, Ride, Meet & Mingles and other events for the Chapter members to participate in. Now’s the time to check out those rides & events on the calendar and make plans to participate. Remember, if you can’t get to the location where the ride takes off from, meet us at the destination.
