Happy New Year!!

I know many articles, speeches, reports, etc will start with those same three words but I just couldn't resist wishing you a 'Happy New Year'! I can't help it ... I'm EXCITED for the new year - 2012!! I'm excited for you, the Chapter, and me!

What this means is another year of riding, Chapter parties, other events where we get together, and most importantly, riding our Harley-Davidson motorcycles with our good friends and acquaintances. I can't wait!

With the new year, it's a good time to implement new ideas for our rides and events. Now's the time while the planning is still in the works. We are always soliciting your feedback and want your input for new/fresh ideas. Please, step up and share your comments/suggestions with any Chapter Officer or one of the committee members. Feel free to send an email, call, or just chat at a Chapter function.

We have some new people in officer positions; Kenny 'Dawg' Daniels takes over as Activities Officer in the month January. Talking with Kenny, I learned he has many new ideas which he would like to implement at upcoming parties. So keep an eye for some new twists to our parties. Along with that, we have Bobbie Faitel who stepped up as L.O.H. Officer last year when Marlene became Editor. She continues to focus on riding events for the L.O.H. as well a couple of new events as suggested by the Ladies of Harley. Be sure to check out these events this year.

As always, Ride Coordinator Lynda Manuszak, has some new ideas suggested via the Ride Committee. Look for some new an interesting overnight and day trips from the Ride Committee.

The common theme here: we like, we need suggestions for new rides/events and need them to come from our membership. We Officers will keep prodding our committees and membership to come up with new ideas that are doable and fun for the majority. After all, we are here to Ride and have Fun!! Do I need to say it again? Sure why not... After all, we are here to Ride and have Fun!

So, whether you are satisfied with hanging in the background and attending an event here or there, or you're a go getter and want to get involved, please don't hesitate to throw your suggestion out there to help improve our rides and events. Like I have stated before, this Chapter does not operate on auto pilot, it operates with people and that all starts with ideas for Chapter activities. Now once you have an idea, you need volunteers to execute.......oh wait, that's another article.

With that, I will encourage each and everyone of you to provide input for Chapter rides and events. Our current officers and committees are doing an awesome job and partly due to your help in providing ideas for our Chapter activities.

I can't wait for riding season! I am really looking forward to 2012 being a great year for the Wolverine H.O.G. Chapter!

Thanks for reading, and Ride Safe!
