Many times we take things for granted. It's not something we do intentionally... it just happens. We become so accustomed to getting treated well that we tend to expect it. I think it is just human nature.
Sometimes we need to remind ourselves that things don't have to be the way they are. They are that way because someone made a choice. They made a choice to plant a seed and grow something great. Something that is bigger than any one person, that can be fun and give back to the community and that we are all a part of. That someone is our dealer, sponsor and friend. And that something is our Wolverine Chapter.
I gave it some thought and reminded myself about some of the things for which I can say thanks: a few things that I take for granted when I walk into the dealership or show up at a meeting or Chapter event; things that happen without any action or intervention on my part. Here is my short list...
• Thanks to our Sponsor, we have a local H.O.G. Chapter.
• Thanks to our Sponsor, we have the Wolverine Den at the dealership to hang out at.
• Thanks to our Sponsor, we have a nice area right in the center of the showroom to hang out at, too.
• Thanks to our Sponsor, we get 10% discounts on our purchases at the dealership.
• Thanks to our Sponsor, we have Member Appreciation Days that double our discount.
• Thanks to our Sponsor, we don't foot the entire bill for our Chapter General Meetings at the ConCorde Inn.
• Thanks to our Sponsor, there are 10 reasons for every 1 that I can think of to say thanks.
So let me take a moment and say thank you to Mr. Riley and George. Thank you to Carla and all the girls in Motor Clothes. Thanks Pat, Mark and the great folks in Sales, Parts and Service. Because of all that you do, I have a place that I am always welcome, an extended family equaled by none and rivaled by all, and the opportunity to have great fun with a great bunch of people!
Think about it a little and the next time you see them, and let them know that they are appreciated. Not for me, but for you... and them. Not because of my little list, but because of yours. Because it is the right thing to do, and because at the end of the day they are not taken for granted, and "Thank You" is the difference.
