The Price of Membership - Unlocking the Mystery

During these tough economic times, everyone wants to get the biggest bang for their buck. Whether they are planning a large purchase or a smaller one, the goal is the same. How can we stretch our hardearned dollars? When we make a payment on something, most of us want to know exactly where our money is going.

We currently pay $24 a year to belong to the Wolverine HOG Chapter. When we plunk down that small chunk of change, do any of us ask what we are getting for our $24? Probably not. The amount is not that large, so most people will just pay their money and not think another thing about it. Stop for a minute and try to think of a couple of things that we get when we pay our dues. You may be surprised at how many things you will come up with and how many things you might not think of. The following is my list:

Monetary items:

• Hall Rental - monthly meetings at ConCorde Inn - four off season parties (Halloween, Chile Cook-off, and more)

• Christmas Party - Covers hall rental, music and a portion of everyone's ticket . Keeps cost low to the members.

• Cost of our Website • Cost to print and mail our newsletter

• Chapter Picnic • Prizes for the Meet and Mingle raffles

• Mileage awards • Recognition Plaques • 10% Discount at the Dealership Non-monetary items:

• Make new friends

• Hanging out with people who have similar interests

• Day Rides

• Dinner Rides
